East Herts Council Response

09 October 2018

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

I understand that several councillors have attended the proposed quarry site at the Briggens estate in recent months at the invitation of Tarmac.
1. In 2018, please give the names of councillors who have attended the proposed quarry site. Eastherts elected members are required to declare any hospitality of a value of £25 or over During this period there have been no declarations (please also see the note below)
2. In respect of those councillors, which council committees they are members of? N/A
3. Have any of these councillors received hospitality from Tarmac at any time and if so, in what form? We have no declarations of hospitality from Tarmac (please also see note below)

Note: We do not require notification of hospitality valued at below £25 but we advise all members to declare hospitality even if it falls below this value.
It should also be noted that Hertfordshire County Council would be the authority responsible for planning regarding the quarry as this falls under mineral planning and this kind of planning would be part of their remit. While some District Councillors may also be County Councillors we would not hold information on hospitality declarations relating to their county function.

If you have any queries or complaint about the processing of your request please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you.
However, this does not answer my first question which was which councillors have attended the proposed quarry site this year.
The answer appears to have been confused with the answer to question 3.

East Herts Council Response

10 October 2018

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

Attendance of elected members to events, sites or other locations is not recorded by the council.

The exception to this is of course if the member declares the attendances as hospitality. They are required to declare gifts, hospitality etc in excess of £25 and may choose to declare values of less than this.

To date we have no records of declaration of attendance at the quarry site by elected members

If you have any queries or complaint about the processing of your request please do not hesitate to contact me.
