Can you please explain how the average pollution levels for Hockerill AQMA area as a whole were calculated? You recently published a post on 20th March on your facebook page that stated there was a "significant decline" in air pollution in the Hockerill area and that it was at 41.8 at "hockerill junction". Is this referring to the whole junction as this does not seem to be correct given that Dunmow and London Road levels are quoted as being above 60. Can you please explain how this number was calculated and what "Hockerill Junction" referred to?

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

I can confirm that the press release in question referred to one location within the Hockerill AQMA  and the diffusion tube on Hockerill Street was used for this purpose. The diffusion tube number used was EH31 which is located on Hockerill Street in Bishops Stortford, grid reference X549156 Y221242.
