Request Details
We act on behalf of XXXXX who is proposing to purchase the property The Warren Hare Street Buntingford SG9 0DZ (the Site) and we have carried out an Environmental Search on the property which reveals possible contamination because of the past use of the adjoining land.
We should be most grateful if you could please let us have your replies to the following:-
1. Are you aware of the past/historic use of the area (Filling station adjacent to the site) between 1974 to 1993
2. Have you identified the site or any surrounding sites as contaminated land (as defined under part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990).
3. Are you considering any further action against the study site or any surrounding area (either informally or formally) under part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
4. If you are considering further action under this legislation could you please establish the level of priority assigned to this site (category level and number within category) and likely timescales of the potential investigation (i.e approximately how many do you investigate per annum).

I am writing to acknowledge your written request for information.

Your request is being considered and you will receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Environmental Information Regulations, subject to the information not being exempt or containing reference to a third party.

The Act defines a number of exemptions, which may prevent release of the information you have requested.  There will be an assessment of your request and if any of the exemption categories apply then the information will not be released.  You will be informed if this is the case, including your rights of appeal.
