Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

We are an agent for a block of flats in Ware on station road and would like to request copies of the complaints received to the council and the local MP following the removal of the recycling facility. We have been informed by the contract officer of the shared waste services that a number of residents made complaints to the council and to the local MP and as a result we now have new recycling facilities.

Records of complaints and instructions to the waste services provider from records are attached

This is generated from customer services and the IT systems for passing information to the contractor

some residents had been in touch with the local elected representative the relevant  text of their communication with us is as follows:

"The second was from a resident of a block of flats in Ware, Millacres, who was concerned that a couple of months ago their recycling collections were cancelled permanently, which surprised me greatly. Apparently the communal bins have all disappeared and the stated reason was that someone had put a margarine tub in the recycling.  They now have to take their recycling to a recycling site some miles away (obviously costly and increasing carbon footprint) or put it into the general waste so that it goes to landfill. This is obviously counterproductive, and seemed very strange to me.  Is it possible to find out the facts regarding the collections for this particular block of flats?  At a time when we should be aiming to increase recycling, it seems as if something has gone wrong there."
