Please provide the number of households who applied to your council for support from April 1, 2020 to the most recently available date and were found to be legally homeless. 

 

Please break this down by:

 a) threatened with homelessness– prevention duty owed

 b) threatened with homelessness due to service of valid Section 21 Notice – prevention Duty owed 

c) already homeless - relief duty owed.

How many local connection referrals where the council accepted a main duty were received in the same time period (April 1, 2020, to the most recent date)? 

By ‘legally homeless’ I mean approaches from households where the council has accepted a homeless duty during the period requested.

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

  • Please provide the number of households who applied to your council for support from April 1, 2020 to the most recently available date and were found to be legally homeless. 

 

Please break this down by:

a) threatened with homelessness– prevention duty owed 73 households were accepted as owed the prevention duty between 01/04/20 and 30/09/20

 b) threatened with homelessness due to service of valid Section 21 Notice – prevention Duty owed We do not collect this information.  However, 23 households were threatened with homelessness and owed prevention duty due to the end of an assured shorthold tenancy, most will have been served a S21 notice

c) already homeless - relief duty owed. 166 households were accepted as owed the relief duty between 01/04/20 and 30/09/20 including 47 households had previously been owed the prevention duty
