East Herts Council Response

13 August 2021

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

User engagement

  • When did you last conduct research into how your website users are accessing digital services? Ongoing process

  • How has your digital uptake increased over the past 12 months (as measured by the government’s guidelines)? Unknown this information is not held

Open source and open standards

  • What percentage of your source code your council develops - or which is developed on your behalf by external parties - is made open? The overwhelming majority of the code powering the website is open source, but not directly authored by Webcurl. Nothing substantial Webcurl have developed for East Herts has been made open, but this is generally all quite specific to the council’s needs, so perhaps limited utility to others: For example - importing content from EHC previous site and implementing branding / look-and-feel. We do not hold metrics to express this as a percentage

  • What percentage of your components are standard government technology components? Webcurl have not ustilised any of the particular “standard government technology components” mentioned in the link, but in the case of, for example - GOV.UK Pay/Notify/Identify that it’s due to lack of need as opposed to investing the budget in alternatives. We do not hold metrics to express as a percentage

  • Is your website designed using open standards for government? None of the standards have been specifically implemented within the site, but many would not apply anyway.

If you have any queries or complaint about the processing of your request please do not hesitate to contact me.
