Dear East Hertfordshire District Council,

 

I wanted to get in touch to see if you"d please be able to help me with a few of these questions, relating to your area.

 

I would like to know..

1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area?

2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are?

3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge holders?

4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child spaces?

5. How many fines are given out a month (on average) for people that park in Blue Badge spaces when they have no Blue Badge?

6. The same for parent-child spaces.

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

1. How many Blue Badge holders are in your area? EHDC do not issue blue badges. You would need to contact Herts County Council for this information

2. How many council-owned parking spaces there are? The number of parking spaces in our car parks can be found at https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/highways-parking/details-our-car-parks

3. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are for Blue Badge holders? Number can be found at https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/highways-parking/details-our-car-parks

4. How many of these council-owned parking spaces are parent-child spaces? 26

5. How many fines are given out a month (on average) for people that park in Blue Badge spaces when they have no Blue Badge? We issue approx. 25 PCNs per month for contravention 87 - parked in a BB bay without display a valid BB

6. The same for parent-child spaces. The parent and child spaces are not covered by the TRO and are therefore not enforceable
