Textile Recycling Banks
1) Are the textile banks provided free of charge or is there a fee
involved for the council?

2) How many textile banks are provided by the current contractor
throughout the district?

3) What is the total tonnage per month from all the textile recycling
banks?

4) How much are the council receiving per Kilo (KG) or per Tonne collected from the textile recycling banks?

5) Is there any additional collection costs for the council or is this service provided free of charge?

6) Do the council get paid monthly or quarterly by the current contractor?

7) When did the current contract start and when does it end?

8) When will the contract be up for tender?

9) Did your current contractor cease operations during the COVID19 pandemic?

Thank you for your request for information, this has now been processed and the information that we hold is enclosed.

 

1 - Please supply a list of your recycling sites which are currently in operation. Clothing & Textiles

You can recycle clothing or textiles at one of our Textile Banks across East Herts. Please see the map or a list of locations below

2 - Does the council have an approved textile contractor/partner? If so what is the name(s)? Hotpursuit Enterprises Ltd.

 

3 - What are the inception and expiry dates of contract between the council and it’s textile recycling contractor/partner? The contract commenced on the 1st April 2019 and expires on the 31st March 2023.

 

4 - What is the fee charged by the council under the tender contract between itself and it’s textile recycling partner? The Council does not charge a fee. The Council pay a "lift fee" and receive income for the sale of textiles.

 

5- Which recycling companies bid for the last tender? This information is confidential.

 

6 - Please supply a list of the final destination of recovered waste material that is collected under the contract?  Renfrewshire, West Yorkshire and export to countries including Cameroon, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Abidjan.

 

7 - What was the weight of duvets and pillows which so far has been collected by the contractor/partner under the contract? Bedding such as duvets and pillows are not accepted by our contractor.

 

8 - Where are duvets and pillows exported after they have been recovered? n/a
